Who We Are
Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
Holy Spirit Episcopal Church is a new congregation in Sutton, Massachusetts, but has roots that go back nearly 200 years. The town of Sutton is a rural community in the heart of the Blackstone Valley, located eight miles south of Worcester, 46 miles southwest of Boston, Massachusetts, and 30 miles north of Providence, Rhode Island.
Our Story
Episcopalians from the former St. John’s in Sutton and St. Andrew’s in North Grafton spent more than two years getting to know each other and working together to create this new congregation. We emerged on Pentecost in May 2017 and collectively strive toward connecting people with God by sharing the Good News.
Our courageous and exciting journey continues as we grow our new church, which today has more than 100 active adults and their families. Pastoral care, music, and Christian formation nurture our congregation. Mission and outreach activities take us into local and regional populations to provide food, spiritual companionship, and a sense of community with others in need.
Our parishioners are involved in many activities, including pastoral care for our own parish members, community outreach initiatives, Bible studies, community breakfasts, and Sutton's Chain of Lights holiday celebration
We welcome anyone interested to join us on our journey! We worship every Sunday at 10 a.m. — both in-person and streamed on Facebook Live. Services are spirit-filled, participatory and relaxed. Come as you are! Holy Spirit Episcopal Church is a vibrant, welcoming and caring place for all who join us to worship and serve God. Learn more in the Worship section of this profile.
Leadership
Everyone in the Holy Spirit community is welcome to join the ministries and outreach programs of the church. Each program has a chair or a leader to coordinate its work. To learn more about these activities, see the “Outreach” section of this profile.
